Designers like Mary Quant claim that tights were born as a result of rising hemlines back in the sixties but it’s the ‘noughties’ now and tights are more fashion than function. Tights excite me almost as much as leather trousers i.e. a lot.

A couple of months back I wrote all about my love of socks but my attention has shifted to tights for now! The Autumn/Winter 08 collections saw tights ranging from classic opaque’s to leopard, star and harlequin prints. D & G sent models down the runway adorned with tartan tights and who can forget Chanel‘s two-tone beauties…

Forget those failsafe black opaque tights, it’s all about colour, lace, pattern and print. The bolder the better-clash with your outfit for ultimate impact.
