You're clearly a fan of fashion. Do you enjoy experimenting with your look?
I love playing around with different styles and wearing unlikely combinations like a gorgeous dress with a leather jacket or slouchy cardigan. Anything that sounds like it shouldn't work usually looks amazing.

Who is your fashion icon or your greatest influence in matters of style?
I adore Roisin Murphy's style and Daphne Guinness rocks. They both wear very high-fashion, couture clothes but somehow make it work for everyday.

What is your essential beauty item that must be in your handbag at all times?
Lip balm and a comb!

What is your favourite item of clothing that you've ever purchased?
A beautiful vintage blue dress that makes me feel old-worldly glamorous every time I wear it. My general style is pretty laid-back and casual so I really enjoy dressing up for occasions.

How important is fashion in the world of the music/film industry?
They both work alongside each other and it's hard to imagine one existing without the other. Image plays a huge part in the success of an artist now so fashion and style in videos and performance is incredibly important. And movies like Sex and the City, The Devil Wears Prada are built on fashion now.

How would you describe your personal style?
Mixed up! A little bit rock, a little grungy but more polished. I prefer clothes that are a little more boyish than girly.

Who is your favourite designer? And your favourite high street store?
Balmain and Comme des Garcons. On the high-street Topshop collaborations are cool and Zara for affordable but well designed pieces.

What is your favourite city to shop in and why?
I lived in New York for 6 months and know the place inside out-vintage stores in the East Village never fail to excite me!

What do you feel best wearing?
Jeans-I live in them. Also blazers-they work for any occasion.

What is the best style advice you have been given?
Wear something you can relax and have fun in.
