Peaches, daughter of Bob Geldof, is in LoVe and has proved it to the world by marrying her American boyfriend in a quickie Las Vegas ceremony. The 19-year-old’s publicist issued a statement saying the TV presenter and DJ had wed singer Max Drummey, 23, of Indie band Chester French, last week.
The couple looked the picture of happiness to me, but then there’s very little to frown about at 19, let loose under the bright lights of Vegas.
Geldof married Drummey, a Harvard anthropology graduate, in a low-key ceremony in Las Vegas while they were on holiday in the US. Daughter of the late Paula Yates, Peaches said the marriage had the "full support of their family".
The relationship is reported to have developed in July when Drummey played at the ITV iTunes festival in London co-presented by Geldof, however, the pair said they first met two years ago.
"Peaches and Max did not want unnecessary publicity, but following growing media speculation, have decided to set out the facts," a statement issued by Geldof’s publicist said.
It added that Geldof’s father had been told of the wedding shortly before it took place and had given the union his blessing despite not being able to walk his daughter down the aisle (I’d say, I know my Dad was secretly hoping I’d come back from my J1 an honest woman! I’d say Bob’s delighted).
