There’s sometimes a fine line between really beautiful shoes and seriously ugly ones – I like to call them “bugly” (how annoying is it when people make up words to describe random whims of fancy?). Anyway, I’m currently obsessed with black boots. Actually I have been for quiet a while; on the last count there were sixteen pairs. Flats, heels, bikers, wedges, buckles, rivets-you get the drift.
While sixteen pairs of anything (knickers being the exception) may seem excessive I just can’t seem to focus on anything that doesn’t fall into this category. Top of my list are the Opening Ceremony strappy shoe boot thingys modelled and designed by the exquisite Chloe Sevingy. A close second are Carin Westers pointed wedge boots (very Alexander Wang but attainable without having to re-mortgage my bike)-they’re sitting pretty in Circus with my name on them!
